Introduction

SC/ST/OBC/Minority / Divyaangjan / Physically Disable Student Cell

On the basis of our constitutional principles of equality and justice and in line with the UGC Guidelines, Shri B.P.B.Arts and M.H.G.Commerce College, Unjha has established Equal Opportunity Cell where special care and attention will be given to the SC/ST/OBC/Minority / Divyaangjan / Physically Disable Students of the college. The aim and objective of the cell will be to address the issues related to the students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Minorities and the Persons with disabilities (PWDs) on a continual basis and empower such students to participate fully in the academic, Intellectual, Social and Cultural life of college on equal basis.

Duties and Powers of Cell 

1. The committee will coordinate all the programmes to make students aware about their fundamental dutuies, and legalrights.
2. The committee will also ensure the proper implementation of Government development schemes and ensure equality for different marginalized sections of the society’
3. The cell will compile all the relevant information about students and teaching staff that belong to the marginalized section of the society’
4. The cell will work as a grievance redressal office for the members belonging to SC/ST/OBC, minority and persons with disabilities.
5. The committee will be responsible for the faithful observance of the policies and guidelines of the Central Government, State Governments and University Grants Commission (U.G.C.) regarding the welfare of the marginalized section of the society.
6. The committee by the use of various means will sensitize the people regarding special need and rights of the differently able, SC, ST, OBC and minorities.
7. The cell will organize, time to time, awareness programmes regarding the special needs of different sections.
8. The committee will help and assist these students for the application of various scholarships and grants of the Government.
