Introduction

Psychology is the science of behavior and mental processes. Psychology subject was introduced as first subsidiary and second subsidiary subject at F.Y. and S.Y.B.A level from the beginning of the college in 1965 in the beginning very few students offer this subject. It was a popular subject among female students but now the department has total 215 students. This subject is very helpful as it guides students in analysis problem. It can be helpful in their career also. At present it has become a favorite subject among both male & female students.

The Contribution of Ms.Nalini.R.Desai, Ms.Anilaben Shah, Mr.A.B.Solanki, Mr.MrunalN.Sadavrati&Mr.M.I.Patel is valuable. They provided their service in the department and popularity of the subject in the Institution is due to their sincere efforts.

There was constant increase in the number of students in the department. In 1992, MsH.M.Trevedi was appointed as part time lecturer in psychology. Mr.M.I.Patel took voluntary retirement in 1997 Prof.Ashaben C. Tadavi. M.A. joined the college in 1998 as permanent lecturer.

Objectives

Helping the students to acquaint with the key concepts, methods, subject matter and applications of psychology.
To help the students to make more effective choices in coping with problems of everyday life.
To know the major concepts, theories, and issues relevant to the discipline of psychology and its major subfields.
To Analyze the major concepts, theories, and issues relevant to the discipline of psychology and its major subfields.
Critically evaluate psychological and related social scientific research.

A Student of Psychology can achieve immense opportunities and can make his/her career in many ways. These are some of the fields in which a student of Psychology can find his future career:
